Zeta Amicae are women who believe in and support the ideals of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., but have not attended college. Under the administration of Soror Lullelia Harrison, the first Amicae chapter was organized in Omaha, Nebraska in 1947, making Zeta the first sorority in the National Pan-Hellenic Council to organize an auxiliary group. Friends and relatives of Zeta Phi Beta members, who have not completed a college degree are especially encouraged to apply for membership. As early as 1940, graduate chapters of Zeta Phi Beta began to realize the importance of the prestige, good will and cooperation of women who, for various reasons, were not members of any Greek-letter organization.

Auxiliary Programs

Delicate Title

The Archonettes of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., formally known as the Zeta Archonettes, is a national youth organization sponsored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  The Archonettes Clubs are comprised of young ladies between the ages of 14-18, and who are attending junior and senior high schools.  Among the many purposes of the Zeta Archonettes Club are to encourage the individual to accept responsibility, develop new interests, work towards creating happiness for others, develop an awareness of the need to share responsibilities and to understand one another in order to achieve a common goal.  This auxiliary club allows members to develop positively by providing them with opportunities to make responsible decisions, to develop confidence and to relate to their peers, parents, and to adults in general. Under the leadership and guidance of their advisors, members of the Archonettes Club participate in many community outreach programs such as oratorical contests, feeding the homeless, and educational/career workshops.  As the young ladies continue to broaden their life experiences by participating in these activities, they embrace the ideals of scholarship, service, sister love, and potential leadership in the community.
